This is a FREE conservation-themed blitz suitable for nearly all ages\, to be held Saturday\, November 5 from 10 am to 12 pm along the West Branch greenway in River Run. \nEvent offerings will include live animals\, bones and furs\, nature crafts\, and conservation-themed activities spaced along the West Branch greenway. Curious children and adults can enjoy the fall foliage while learning about nature’s preparations for winter\, special birds and plants of the forest\, and the interconnectedness of nature.  Joining the event will be Conservancy community partners\, including the Town of Davidson\, Carolina Raptor Center\, Mecklenberg County Parks and Rec\, NC Wildlife Federation\, Woodlawn’s STEAMfest\, Bartlett Tree Service\, Steven Hughes\, and World of Wonder. What kind of activities do the trees and wildlife engage in to prepare for the winter? \nJoin WOW and naturalist Theresa Morr as we explore the West Branch Nature Preserve preparing for winter.  This outing is for children and their families.  The minimum age is 4 years old.  We recommend long pants\, boots\, or sturdy walking shoes appropriate for muddy areas. We will learn about the many exciting inhabitants of this ecosystem\, from slimy to feathered\, as we explore forest and wetland trails. Water\, sunscreen\, and bug spray are recommended. \nThis nature outing is for children with their families.  The best age is 4 and older.  Children younger than that would be best in a backpack or carrier.  No strollers.
