SUMMARY:Davidson K8 Outdoor Classroom Mulching Day - Volunteers Needed!
DESCRIPTION:Local Girl Scout and Gold Award candidate\, Ella Landman\, will be completing a second outdoor classroom behind the Davidson K8 School (635 South St) on Saturday\, April 29; Saturday\, May 6; and Saturday\, May 20. Volunteers for any of these days are appreciated\, but the mulching day of May 6 is most critical. This outdoor classroom will  provide another fresh air space for student learning\, summer camp projects\, and public use on the trails behind DK8. \nPlease come with a water bottle and work or gardening gloves. DESCRIPTION:Davidson Lands Conservancy is excited to host Spring NatureFest on Saturday\, May 20th from 10 am – 12 pm at Roosevelt Wilson Park. \nCome experience the joy of nature through live animal demonstrations\, fishing\, and other activities free to all! NatureFest is an opportunity to learn about the many special plant and animal species that call North Carolina home. From spiders to owls to prairie flowers\, NatureFest has something for everyone to explore as you stroll through Roosevelt Wilson Park. The park is conveniently located at 420 Griffith St. in the heart of Davidson.  Frozen treats and beverages will be available for purchase from Queens Ice food truck. \nDLC community partners include Carolina Raptor Center\, NC Wildlife Federation\, Mecklenburg County Parks & Rec.\, Schiele Musuem\, Native Plant Society\, Davidson College\, Davidson K8 School\, Stephen Hughes’ Live Animals\, World of Wonder\, Catawba Riverkeepers\, Woodlawn STEAMfest\, Bartlett Tree Service\, My Monarch Butterflies\, Town of Davidson\, and Mecklenburg County Beekeepers. \nWe are grateful to our generous sponsor Davidson Garden Club for supporting this opportunity to come together as a community to learn and support biodiversity in our region. \n  \n
