COMMUNITY TREE PLANTING

COMMUNITY TREE PLANTING

tree planting

DLC’s Community Tree Planting Team preserves and restores our tree canopy. Trees play a vital role in maintaining the health of our environment by:

  • Cleaning our air (filtering and absorbing carbon dioxide)

  • Reducing storm water run-off (carrying pollutants like pesticides and fertilizers to new areas)

  • Cooling our streets and homes without energy use

Trees also increase home values. According to the Arbor Day Foundation, large trees can increase your home’s value by 3 to 15%. And oh yes – they are beautiful, complex organisms that adapt and change before our eyes!

In addition to planting trees in the community, Davidson Lands Conservancy is working with the Town of Davidson to better manage our tree canopy. These efforts include:

  • Supporting the Town’s Tree Ordinance to protect trees with historical and heritage value

  • Updating the Town’s street tree inventory

  • Working with local property owners to improve our tree canopy

Our trees are an important asset to the health and well being of our town. Every mature tree we lose takes years to replace. Davidson Lands Conservancy’s Community Tree Planting program protects and grows our local tree canopy for future generations. Join our volunteer team today to help keep Davidson green and beautiful!

CONSERVE LAND

Your land can make a big difference. And you might be surprised at how simple it is to ensure that your property is part of the conservation solution in Davidson.

VOLUNTEER

Whatever your passion, there’s a place for you at DLC. From sharing your expertise with visitors to planting trees with your family, volunteers are the heart and soul of our mission.

PLANT TREES

Volunteers have planted over 1,000 trees—and counting. Helping to restore our tree canopy is an ideal activity for families, groups, and students of all ages.

DONATE

Your support is the reason DLC is succeeding in its conservation efforts. A little goes a long way, and a little more can literally help save our corner of the planet.
