OUR 4 PILLARS OF SUCCESS

PRESERVE & ENHANCE TREE CANOPY

Trees give us life and the very air we breathe. Even if there were no other reasons to appreciate and replenish them, our oxygen supply is a pretty good one. Trees also do a dandy job of cleaning the air of particulates, our key air quality threat to human health. And, the beauty of our canopy largely makes Davidson the attractive and appealing community it is.

THE WHAT

TreesDavidson is community engagement and education program, grounded in science, that’s aimed at people of all ages. DLC partners with the community to teach residents and visitors about the value of trees and how to care for them. And, of course, we plant trees, and add diversity our urban forest in the process!

THE WHY

Our urban forest is essential to human health, as well as the health of our wildlife and ecosystems. The tree canopy is thinning quickly as our trees age out and because of land development.
