CONSERVE & STEWARD LAND

This is what drives the staff and volunteers at Davidson Lands Conservancy. It’s all about the land: permanently safeguarding it now so that future generations benefit from our natural lands and ecosystems as we do today.

THE WHAT

Our core mission is to permanently protect local lands through conservation and effective stewardship. Working with landowners who share similar goals, we’re able to protect land with high conservation values against future development while maximizing that land’s value to the ecosystem.

THE WHY

It’s impossible to overstate the importance of natural lands when it comes to our health, quality of life, and the ecosystems that support us all.  The high rate of land development jeopardizes the open spaces and natural landscapes critical to making our community healthy, attractive, and livable.

THE PLAN

We fulfill our conservation plans by educating prospective supporters (like you!) and through proactive landowner outreach. We’ll measure success by:

  • Reaching our goal of preserving 650 additional acres over the next three years
  • Completing annual inspections on all properties monitored by DLC
  • Successfully communicating our land stewardship practices to the public
  • Making conserved land available to the public as much as possible
