Davidson Lands Conservancy is launching Wilderness Calling, an all ages experiential nature program offered throughout the year to highlight different seasonal wonders. These experiences will include nature hikes, stream walks, birding outings, wildflower hunts, star gazing and other opportunities to get out and engage nature.  Each experience will have education and adventure.  To kick this off, we are featuring a hike with Paula Gross.
Join Botanist Paula Gross and Davidson Lands Conservancy for an all-ages hike through Fisher Farm Park as we tune our senses and immerse ourselves in the woods.  Paula will lead us on a ramble to discover what’s waking on the forest floor and among the branches. Bring your curiosity and connect with the land. Sign-up HERE to attend the event.  Space is limited so register early.
Paula holds a master’s degree in horticulture from the University of Georgia and is the former associate director of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte Botanical Gardens. For twenty years, Paula taught courses in botany, plant identification, and economic botany. She is co-author of the book Bizarre Botanicals with Larry Mellichamp and co-author or Southeast Native Plant Primer with Larry Mellichamp and Will Stuart.
