While nature is glorious to experience on its own, capturing it in artwork can preserve and enhance the moment. In collaboration with the Davidson branch of Charlotte’s Holt School of Art, DLCs Wilderness Calling October is Art in Beaty Park where participants can learn secrets to create “plein air” masterpieces meaning artwork that attempts to represent outdoor light and air.

The class will be taught by Holt’s Nicholas Stewart. Nicholas was born and raised in the mountains of Southwest Virginia. Learn more about Nicholas:  www.nicholasmstewart.com

Participants are asked to bring a chair and lap desk or easel (six are available on a first come first serve basis) and any art supplies of their choosing (paints, pastels, water color, colored pencil, etc).

About Holt School:

Holt School is home to over 600 artists including adults, teens and children ages 9+. There are currently three locations, in Charlotte, NC  , Pineville, NC and Davidson, NC .

Please bring water.  Sign-up is required here and by signing-up you are agreeing to our waiver which can be found on the sign-up.  The event end time is posted as noon but our teachers will stay until 1 pm to ensure everyone has time to finish their work.
