Our March Wilderness Calling event will fill-up so sign-up early and join DLC and local wildflower expert, Botanist Paula Gross, on a walk to discover the surprises of early spring and possibly the rare beauty of spring ephemeral wildflowers. Expect to tune your senses and immerse yourself in the woods at Fisher Farm, as Paula leads us on a ramble to discover what’s waking on the forest floor and among the branches. Bring your curiosity and connect with the land, as we search for bloodroot and other earliest spring wildflowers. on Saturday, March 8th from 10:00 am to 11:45 am.

We will meet at the parking lot at Fisher Farm Park, located at 21215 Shearer Road, Davidson, NC 28036. Sturdy shoes and a water bottle are required. This outing is appropriate for adults and children 8+.

Paula Gross, M.S., is an educator and botanist whose passion is connecting plants and people through formal and informal education – from adults and college students to preschoolers. She is the co-author of the Southeast Native Plant Primer and Bizarre Botanicals and the former Associate Director of the UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens. Her message of hope for individual and planet is in the profound understanding that we ARE Nature, not separate from it.
