One of DLC’s most popular programs is our Treasure Tree initiative.  Sponsored by Trane Technologies, this effort was started to recognize outstanding examples of different trees in Davidson’s canopy.  We have awarded the designation of Treasure Tree to over 100 trees and the list is always growing.

For our Wilderness Calling September event, DLC staff member, Lauren Collver, will give an overview of the program and discuss how we select Treasure Trees.  Then Lauren will take participants on a walk around downtown Davidson to look at various Treasure Trees and discuss their benefits to our community…and who knows…by the end of this event, you may even decide to nominate one of your favorite trees for this designation.  This event does require moderate walking.
