WOW February: In Search of the Spotted Salamander
Feb 21 at 10:00 am - 11:30 am EST
Ever wonder what’s happening in the woods during the wintertime while a lot of creatures are hibernating? Join Allen Lloyd, a local naturalist, and WOW on a short hike in search of the Spotted Salamander and learn about this fascinating and gorgeous amphibian.
You’ll learn about the salamander’s habitat, reproductive cycle, diet, and why the Spotted Salamander spends most of the year underground and is only seen for a short time in the winter and early spring. We are delighted to have Allen return to lead this popular outing for us.
This outing is for children with their families. The minimum age is 5 years old. Wear shoes or boots that you don’t mind getting muddy. We will be on and off trails in a local wetland. Please, no dogs or strollers.
Please register and read our waivers HERE By registering for this outing, you are agreeing to its terms and conditions. Pre-registration is required. If you are unable to attend, please update your sign-up so another family may participate. If the Sign-up Genius is full and you’d like to be added to a waitlist, email Carly at [email protected]
