This development is an important and necessary aspect to the growing economy of metro Charlotte, but balancing the rush to expand with natural ecology, sustainable planning, and green infrastructure are important aspects of a developing landscape. This paper will serve as a summary of the conservation issues in Davidson and the metro Charlotte region as well as highlight the importance of conservation in land use planning as the region is increasingly pressured to develop land.
