AULT CONSERVATION EASEMENT

Long-time conservationist and generous community supporters, Ruth and Richard Ault granted DLC a conservation easement on their land located in the Village area of Davidson.  The easement, established in 2018 as the result of the generosity of the Aults, permanently eliminates development potential on the property.

The Ault preserve is rich in conservation values, including water quality protection, tree cover, and wildlife habitat.  The preserve abuts an important riparian and wildlife corridor owned by The Pines. DLC is working with the Aults on creative ways to manage the property for wildlife, including eradication of invasive plants in the coming years.
