This is a WOW+ event meaning in addition to families, anyone who would like to attend is welcome as the auditorium has 78 seats.

We have made enormous leaps in our understanding of the Universe over the last 100 years. For example, it has been discovered that our Milky Way is not the sole galaxy in the Universe. Astronomers found that all galaxies are moving away from us as the Universe expands at accelerating speeds. We now know that the large spiral galaxies all harbor supermassive black holes and we have developed the technology to image them. We have expanded astronomy from studying objects solely with light to learning about them through gravitational waves. The Universe that we know today is indeed very different from the one that our grandparents learned about. Which questions do we think we have answered, and which ones do we not yet understand? Join us for a “Journey Though the Cosmos” as we explore some of these ideas and our place in the ever-growing Universe. Weather permitting, please join us outside following the hour-long lecture and Q&A for stargazing.

Lecture 7:00 – 8:00 PM

Stargazing 8:00 – 9:00 PM, weather permitting
