Over 25 volunteers from our community, including students from Davidson K8 School, Community School of Davidson, Hough High, and UNC Charlotte gathered at West Branch Rocky River South Prong creek by Plum Creek Park. Led by Gordon Clark and sponsored by DLC and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Service’s Adopt-A-Stream program, volunteers donned waders and gloves and set off to clean trash from a tributary of Rocky River. Many pounds of trash, including several tires, were removed and bagged for disposal. Following the event, DLC hosted a social featuring a cookout and spirited conversation. DLC is grateful to the dedicated folks who came out on a beautiful, but chilly, morning to help keep our waterways clean and healthy. This project is part of DLC’s wildlife habitat initiative.  Stay connected with DLC for upcoming events by visiting our events page at https://davidsonlands.org/dlc-events/.
