DAVIDSON TREASURE TREES

#008 Live Oak
(Quercus virginia)

This Live Oak was transplanted by the original homeowner in the early 1960s. The seedling was brought from Figure Eight Island, just north of Wrightsville Beach. Live Oaks are rare in Davidson as they don’t do well in extremely cold temperatures and when in North Carolina, prefer coastal environments.
