This plant is utilized as windbreaks, specimens, accent plants, and Christmas trees. Numerous dwarf forms of this plant exist. It is a majestic tree with pendulous lateral branchlets. This plant is susceptible to borers, budworms, red spiders, and spruce gall aphids.
