DAVIDSON TREASURE TREES

#082 Southern Magnolia
(Magnolia grandiflora)

It is the 3rd largest Southern Magnolia in the Davidson Treasure Tree program.

This tree is a major feature in the landscape of this property. Under the canopy, it resembles something like a mangrove. The history of this tree is unknown, but I know the house is next to it is ~100 years old, I assume the tree is of comparable age.  The owner has heard anecdotes of people currently n their 50’s climbing to the top of the tree when they were small kids in the neighborhood.
