Davidson Lands Conservancy is committed to preserving our open lands, tree canopy, wildlife habitat, and expanding our greenways. We are a small organization focused every day on our local natural lands and creative ways to conserve them.

This GivingTuesday, DLC will inspire generosity by focusing public awareness of its Four Pillars of Conservation.

  1. Conserve and Steward Land
  2. Preserve and Enhance Tree Canopy
  3. Expand Greenways and Trails
  4. Protect Wildlife Habitat

We feel an acute sense of urgency about our conservation mission and have charted an exciting path forward. Why? Davidson’s natural lands and open spaces are central to our sense of place, quality of life, and health, and they are threatened by the region’s rapid growth and development. Growth of our area will continue, and as it does, the window of opportunity to conserve key lands closes.

Development of land is nearly irreversible and shapes the look, feel and sense of place of our community for generations. Land conservation ensures nature’s resiliency and supports local ecosystems, wildlife habitat, and water quality. Conservation provides the necessary balance.

See how DLC is striving to make an impact in Davidson, NC and how you can get involved with us through our Four Pillars by volunteering for an event or donating to advance our efforts.

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world. GivingTuesday will kick off the generosity season this year by inspiring people to give back on November 29, 2022, and throughout the year.

People demonstrate generosity in many ways on GivingTuesday. Whether it’s helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving to causes we care about, every act of generosity counts.
