On a gorgeous spring Sunday, families gathered behind the Davidson K8 School for a hike through the woods to the Claire Alexander outdoor classroom.  There the children experienced a one-ofa-kind nature music lesson by talented Jamie Hofmeister-Cline. Children collected sticks and used wire to attach sound makers like sea shells, wood beads, and metal bells. Jamie, a local and legendary music teacher, led the children in fun songs and stories with the accompaniment of the children’s crafted instruments. Jamie shared a large lower jaw from a South American deer used as a musical instrument in traditional Peruvian music.
