Davidson Lands Conservancy proudly announces the launch of its DLC Fellowship program and welcomes its inaugural Fellow, Lauren Collver. She will serve as an Assistant Director supporting DLC’s stewardship work and daily operations.
Lauren is a Conservation Ecologist from Blacksburg, VA. She earned her B.S. in Biology from Davidson College in May 2025 where she studied forest biodiversity and plant evolutionary ecology. Lauren’s work experience includes biodiversity research, nonprofit operations, and land preservation. She was most recently a conservation technician at the Bald Head Island Conservancy where her work includes surveying wildlife populations, leading intern teams, and conducting public education programs. Executive Director, Beth Wytiaz says, “We are absolutely thrilled that we were able to secure a full-time yearlong position for Lauren. She brings tremendous passion, capabilities and energy to the organization and we are grateful she chose to join DLC.”
Lauren first started working with DLC in 2023 as a biodiversity research student and a member of DLC’s Wildlife Enhancement Collaborative. I am excited to build relationships with DLC’s partners and help preserve Davidson’s natural treasures,” said Lauren Collver.
This fellowship is partially funded by Trane Technologies and housing for Lauren is being provided at an 80% discount by Crescent Communities at their new Novel Davidson community.
