DLC hosted 2 clean up events on May 1, 2021 to celebrate Around Town Day. Town Day originated as a day of service to the community and this year’s events went back to its roots. At Plum Creek Park and along the adjacent greenway, about a dozen folks gathered to re-mulch over 70 trees planted there by TreesDavidson. Trash was also collected, though fortunately little was found! We would like to say a HUGE thank you to our dedicated volunteers and to the Town of Davidson for providing mulch, tools, and clean-up supplies!
Also on May 1, DLC supporter and volunteer, Alice Sudduth, led a Beaty Park clean-up with volunteers from the Hobbs Hill neighborhood. Eighteen volunteers worked hard to clear out debris and all kinds of trash from the woods. Another thank you to these civic-minded residents! And a special thanks to Bartlett Tree Experts for being such an amazing partner to us, chipping our debris yet again!
It’s inspiring to see the commitment and care for our community’s natural resources shown by Davidsonians.
